The Haunts a rad three-piece, surf garage rock band, consisting of Aaron Brotman on guitar, vocals Max Goldenstein and Alanna Swadlow on the drums, ventured out to the famous Nude Bowl in the California desert to shoot the video for the song, "Kids In The Street" off their debut self-titled EP. The song is about doing away with labels and just loving whoever you want.

On Go Skateboarding Day, the Girl is NOT a 4 Letter Word crew took over the iconic LA landmark, Randy's Donuts, and put on a girls demo with our partners at 2x4 Mini Ramps. So many people came out to watch the girls rip the mini ramp, 1/4 pipes and fun box. It really was an epic day!
Big congrats to GN4LW team rider Briel - she's featured in the new Walmart "Back to School" Commercial that is currently running now! Watch for her skateboarding in the commercial above.
Montréal, CANADA (July 13, 2019) – Canadian skateboarding is forever changed after today’s historic moment at the brand new Vans skatepark located in Montréal. Thousands of skate enthusiasts witnessed Pedro Barros and Yndiara Asp claim back-to-back wins at the third stop of Vans Park Series 2019.
Inspiring the next generation of skateboarders, Pedro and Yndiara utilized Montréal’s new skatepark with creative lines and combinations that not only earned them first place but set the standard on what can be achieved in the permanent skatepark left behind for the community.
Drawing energy from the frenetic crowd, Yndiara said,
“This crowd and the skate community was everything, they make me want to skate better every day.”
The amped-up crowd at Saturday’s Finals that powered Yndiara to victory rivaled the hardcore Brazilian skate fans of São Paulo, but the skating was the best seen so far on the 2019 VPS Pro Tour.
Joining Yndiara on the women’s podium, Jordyn Barratt came in second place, and Lizzie Armanto in third, with their unique and exciting runs.
Yndiara Asp's winning run
We loved watching the women take advanatge of that 4th run, 1st wall rebate - we saw Alana Smith go for a huge 540 McTwist (she didn't make it but it was awesome to watch!), and Grace dropping in from the top of the VANS sign - which she did make on her second attempt. Taking advantage of that 1st wall rebate really adds to the excitement of the event!
We also really enjoyed 2 other surprises - Alana Smith back in the mix skating park (she still skates street too) and Alex White adding to the commentary for the women's event - Alex is always fun and her comments and observations are spot on.
Autumn Tust is another female skater to keep your eye on, she dropped out of competitive skating for a while to focus on her budding rap career, but is now back, entering and competing at both VPS Brazil and now VPS Canada, if she enters the next VPS comp in Paris she may have enough points to make the finals in Salt Lake City, Utah in September.

(July 9, 2019) – After an absolutely electric VPS event in Brazil two weeks ago, the fierce pool of competitors are back, looking to elevate their performance in Montréal, Canada for the third qualifier event of the 2019 Vans Park Series Pro Tour. As a critical midway-point of the season, competitors will head to the Montréal Olympic Park, the landmark site of the 1976 Summer Olympics, this weekend, July 12-13 to once again improve their Park Series rankings. With the 2019 VPS World Championships only two months away, skaters are feeling the pressure to showcase the very best of what they’ve got.
This is a historic stop both for the Park Series tour and the country of Canada, as skaters will experience for the first time, over 38,000 square feet of brand new, permanent built-to-spec park terrain, donated by Vans Park Series and the Montréal Olympic Park to the province of Québec. This skatepark will be the first-ever Canadian VPS-certified park terrain legacy course. The entire Welcome "Seance" video is seriously awesome but if you want to watch Nora (and Kristin Ebling) skate, head over to 17:48 and prepare to be stoked - the skating is RAD! You'll want to watch this part on REPEAT.
Pro street skateboarder, Lacey Baker appears in the new Miley Cyrus Video "Mother's Daughter" - a powerful message to be authentic and true to who you are in this crazy world. The video, which launched yesterday, is already going viral. The images and scenes are powerful, intense and graphic at times, and show that women can be whoever they want to be. We absolutely love it!
"The video splices footage of the pop star performing “Mother’s Daughter” with cheeky images that celebrate the female and gender-non-conforming body in all its forms. The clip features an array of guests including models Aaron Philip and Casil McArthur, skateboarder Lacey Baker, dancer Amazon Ashley, actress Angelina Duplisea, 11-year-old activist Mari Copeny and Cyrus’ own mother, Tish Cyrus". Another fun Nora Vasconcellos video - this time for Mob Grip. Nora talking about art, creating, who her biggest influence is when it comes to being artistic, and of course Nora skateboarding.
Today's elimination and finals from The Road to X-Games Live from Boise was amazing! The girls were pushing harder than we've seen in the past. Tricks were being made right during the final runs - things that eluded the women in practice came together to make for some powerful runs. It was Japan's Misugu Okamoto that lead the final 6 women into the finals, along with Bryce Wettstein, Poppy Starr Olsen, Kody Tamahana, Cocona Hiraki, and Kihana Ogawa.
At just 10 years old Cocoana from Japan will now be the youngest girl to compete at the Summer X-Games, passing Brighton Zeuner who secured an invite at age 11 in 2016 and won her first gold on her 12th birthday in 2017 and snagged gold again in 2018.
Congrats to all the women for an unforgettable comp!
