It's Exposure weekend! The 15th annual Exposure, the world's largest and longest-running women's skateboarding event, rolls into Encinitas Community Park ("Poods") Nov 6โ€“8. It's free to watch, it's a benefit for survivors of domestic violence, and it's where about 60% of the women who skated at the Tokyo and Paris Olympics got their competitive start. Pack a chair and some sunscreen and come scream for the girls! ๐Ÿ›น๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ’œ Why it matters

Exposure was founded by Olympian Amelia Brodka and Lesli Cohen, and it's always been about more than the contest. Every year it raises money for survivors of domestic violence, more than $304,000 so far, with Encinitas' Community Resource Center as its partner. Come for the shredding, stay for the vendor village, learn-to-skate clinics and food trucks, and leave inspired.
