NEW ORLEANS (July 26, 2026) – In a season that could not have been scripted any better by Hollywood, X Games Club New York (XC New York) won the first-ever MoonPay X Games League championship on the final run of the final event of the season to claim the trophy, bragging rights and $500,000.
After events in Sacramento, Chiba and New Orleans, XC New York finished with 2,640 points, just ahead of XC Tokyo’s 2,630. XC Los Angeles took third place with 2,380 points, while XC São Paulo finished with 2,350.
“I felt like we won the draft,” said Steve Rodriguez, XC New York’s General Manager. “I always believed in this team. This group of individuals was always into it from the start. They always showed up, always hung out, always performed, and they always had each other’s backs. Mayor Mamdani, get the bus ready because XC NY is coming for the parade!”
Japan’s 15-year-old wunderkind Mizuho Hasegawa (XC Tokyo) wrapped up the XGL’s inaugural MVP award. Hasegawa finished the 2026 XGL Summer Season with eight medals (two gold, five silver and one bronze) in nine events. No previous athlete had won even six medals in the same calendar year. She finished her incredible X Games League season with 680 points, by far the most of any athlete. Ever the team player, Hasegawa said she’d rather help her XC Tokyo club than earn personal accolades.
“I’m really happy that I was able to get the MVP, but of course I’m really bummed about XC Tokyo not winning the whole thing,” said Hasegawa. “This would have never happened without the support of everyone and my teammates. I’m really happy. Thank you to all the athletes who competed and all the teams who competed. Thanks to everyone.”

Day 1 - MoonPay Women’s Skateboard Vert
Mizuho Hasegawa wins to extend her lead for the XGL MVP
Mizuho Hasegawa (XC Tokyo) successfully opened her quest to become the first female to win three golds at the same X Games, and the 15-year-old had a solid start at accomplishing something last done in 2006. It’s the second straight Vert gold for Hasegawa and 11th medal total. It’s her sixth medal of the 2026 season, making her the first person in history to earn six X Games medals in a calendar year. Hasegawa has two more Skateboard disciplines (Park and Vert Best Trick). Hasegawa entered New Orleans with 440 points, tops in the XGL MVP race, and extended her lead in the MVP race with the win. She also added to XC Tokyo’s point total in the race for the overall crown.
Mia Kretzer (XC Los Angeles) doesn’t turn 12 until October and she’s now a six-time X Games medalist, owning every “youngest” record possible (athlete, medalist, and gold medalist - earned as a 9-year-old at X Games Ventura 2024). Hasegawa and Kretzer are the two youngest athletes in the Vert field. Asahi Kaihara (Free Agent) put a solid third run together to complete the podium
Mizuho Hasegawa: “I focus on everything I can right now, and I will continue to do so for the other events. Honestly, I didn't know until the last run, but I got a 93 and I was really hyped, and I'm really happy."

Day 2 - MoonPay Women’s Skateboard Vert Best Trick
Mia Kretzer finishes her season with a never been done trick to claim gold
With an average age of 16, Women’s Vert Best Trick is the youngest competition at X Games New Orleans 2026. The all-teen (and tween!) final ranged in age from 11 to 19. The 11-year-old Mia Kretzer (XC Los Angeles), already had the most medals of any tween in X Games history and on Saturday, she added to the haul, topping the field in the MoonPay Women’s Skateboard Vert Best Trick. It’s Mia’s fourth X Games gold and seventh medal overall, with five coming in 2026. Mia’s never been done (NBD) fakie body varial 720 clinched the win. The silver medalist in Friday night’s Women’s Skateboard Vert, she cemented her status as the best value pick in the 2026 X Games League draft: The 39th of 40 total picks now has 420 points, or 26% of XC LA’s total.
Asahi Kaihara (Free Agent) threw down a switch front foot impossible tailgrab to grab second place. Kaihara adds silver to her Vert bronzes in New Orleans and Sacramento. Her career tally sits at five X Games medals, all in Vert (one silver, four bronze). Mizuho Hasegawa (XC Tokyo), the X Games League MVP points leader, took the bronze with an alley-oop body varial 540. She reached 600 points putting her in reach of clinching the crown. With 12 career medals, she has matched legend Leticia Bufoni’s record for most medals of any woman competing in summer disciplines.
Mia Kretzer: “I went back home for a week after Chiba and I was trying to find a big trick to throw down for the championship. I was training to get the Fakie 540, but I just kept spinning, and eventually, I got the 720, and I was super stoked to get that and I thought it'd be really cool to throw down today.”

Chloe Covell comes up golden in the clutch, putting XC New York on top of the standings
Chloe Covell (XC New York) delivered for her club, winning gold and boosting New York to the XGL championship lead. Covell, the top overall pick in the XGL Summer Draft, now has 12 career X Games medals (seven gold, two silver and three bronze) including medals from her seven most recent starts and eight of her nine total starts in the Street discipline. The gold medal on Saturday also tied Leticia Bufoni’s record (12) for most medals from women’s summer disciplines. She has a chance to pass Bufoni on Sunday.
It was a huge event for XC New York, with Covell’s gold and Momiji Nishiya’s silver giving XC New York 180 points, enough to take the overall XGL lead. Yumeka Oda (XC Tokyo) rounded out the podium with a bronze. She now has six career medals - one silver and three bronze in Street; one gold and one bronze in Street Best Trick.
Chloe Covell: “I’m so stoked, so happy to do it for my team, especially. We were so close to getting into the number one spot and Momiji and I did so good. I’m so happy to be in first place! All us girls are such good friends and are trying to have a good time and push each other. We’re all a big team together! It’s so crazy I don’t even think about things like that [tying Bufoni] until I’m told. Leticia means so much to the sport and I’ve been hanging out with her all weekend. I have the best team ever. Steve [Rodriguez, XCNY GM] is the best ever. Let’s go win more medals!”

Day 3 - Stake Women’s Skateboard Park
Sky Brown pulls out the win in her last run over the XGL MVP
It was a battle between frenemies Sky Brown (XC São Paulo) and Mizuho Hasegawa (XC Tokyo), with Brown stealing the win in her last run. Hasegawa had the lead over Brown in her second run, but after her last run, Hasegawa left the door open for Brown, with less than 1.5 point separating first and second place. Brown’s signature style was on display, as she executed a higher level of style to overcome the gap between her and the league MVP to take back-to-back golds in Women’s Skateboard Park and 100 points for XC São Paulo. She now owns six X Games Park medals (four gold and two silver), the most in the X Games’ discipline’s history.
Hasegawa wrapped up the XGL MVP with the silver. She also became the most decorated woman in Summer X Games with a baker’s dozen, topping Leticia Bufoni’s and Chloe Covell’s 12. She has the fourth-most X Games women’s medals overall. 15-year-old Helli Servio (XC New York) helped out her club with the bronze and 60 points, and along with Bryce Wettstein’s fourth place, kept XC New York in the championship lead. Sirvio has four medals from her five Park starts.
Sky Brown: “Mizuho pushed the hell out of me and I knew I had to go big.That was a hard battle, dang! That wasn't a safety, easy run for me, and I really pushed myself. I wanted to see how far I could go. I did my front side 540, which I was the first girl to ever do in the X Games. So to be able to do that, I’ve only landed a few before in an event. That was very special. This whole time, all I could think was ‘DANG I want to do this for my team supporting me.’ I’m leaving for a surf comp tomorrow so I gotta stay locked in, but this just gave me the fire for surfing.”

Momiji Nishiya Keeps XC New York in Prime Position
A defining moment for XC New York came when Momiji Nishiya (XC New York) landed a clutch crooked grind nollie heelflip on the 13-stair rail to overtake the XC Tokyo duo of Yumeka Oda and Coco Yoshizawa. Her gold medal run delivered crucial points to keep XC New York in the lead position of the Championship race. It’s Nishiya’s second straight Street Best Trick gold after Chiba. She now has three career golds and seven X Games medals overall, and enjoyed a great weekend, with Street silver in addition to her gold. It was a resounding return to form for the Tokyo 2021 Olympics Street champ. Nishiya remains the youngest-ever X Games Street medalist - male or female - with her silver at X Games Minneapolis in 2019 when she was 11 years old.
Silver and bronze went to XC Tokyo teammates Oda and Yoshizawa who did their best to help their club. Oda performed a kickflip frontside feeble grind down the 13-stair square rail, and Yoshizawa threw down a bigspin front board shuv-it out on the 13-stair rail.
In her last run, Chloe Covell (XC New York) landed the trick that eluded her all day to finish in fourth place with just 20 points separating XC New York from XC Tokyo heading into the last event of the weekend.
Momiji Nishiya: “Thanks to everyone who supported me. Getting the gold really means a lot to me. After winning Chiba in Best Trick, I really wanted to win here as well, so I’m just really happy. Chloe being next to me really helps!”
